Co-curricular activities form a crucial part of a well-rounded education, extending beyond the academic curriculum to enrich a student’s learning experience. These activities encompass a diverse range, from sports and arts to clubs and community service. They offer a platform for students to develop various skills like leadership, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving. Engaging in co-curriculars fosters creativity, builds confidence, and encourages exploration of individual interests and talents. These activities complement classroom learning by providing practical application and real-world experiences.
As the holy occasion of Diwali is almost here and the atmosphere is already filled with the spirit of mirth and cheer, an Inter-House Rangoli Making Competition was organized for classes( VI to IX and XI) on 9/11/23 in school premises today. It not only enabled students to remain in close touch with their culture but also played an important role in motivating them to perform and outshine their creative skills. Our budding artists embraced tradition with a modern twist by using eco-friendly material. The vibrant patterns adorned the school grounds and made it more pious. Bhagat and Tagore’s house got 1 position on the given themes and 2 positions secured by Teresa house and 3rd by Ashoka house
Games teach ‘team spirit’ and help build character. To win humbly and to lose gracefully is in order. A warm handshake at the end of an event between both the winning and ‘not so lucky’ participants, brings both to a ‘level platform of goodwill’, and hearts warm up. The games played in our school are cricket, basketball, football, hockey, races, shot put, hurdles, javelin etc. At Lawrence Academy, we aim for perfection in everything…including sports. We have sports activities so that students from all age groups can enjoy, relax, and exercise all at the same time. We have first-class coaches from all over the world who are ready to help the students and teach them, students, how to beat the opposition with skill and good sportsmanship. We consider every student a representative of Lawrence Academy, we expect the students to be punctual, well-prepared, and always in high spirits. We, want the students to discover their true potential, and the only way we can do this is by letting them play and live life to the fullest.
School trips offer invaluable experiential learning opportunities outside the classroom, broadening horizons and fostering a deeper understanding of subjects. They allow students to explore diverse cultures, historical sites, or natural wonders, bringing lessons to life and encouraging hands-on engagement. These excursions cultivate social skills, teamwork, and independence while creating lasting memories. Whether visiting museums, embarking on outdoor adventures, or engaging in cultural exchanges, school trips inspire curiosity, ignite passion, and complement academic learning in an immersive and unforgettable way.
All the pupils are encouraged to take part in curricular and co-curricular activities, those excelling in these activities will be given due recognition through certificate and awards. Students scoring above the given criteria set by the school in any subjects will be awarded a “Merit” certificate every term. Outstanding students in academics will have their photos permanently displayed on the school Honor Scroll Board. Bright and deserving students are eligible for scholarships.
